Well it's that time of year - "SPRING".  Time to clean out clutter and spiff up your home.  Here are a few quick ideas.

Clean out the garage.  Easier said than done, I know.  You can start by going through tools and throwing away the rusted ones or the ones that cannot to repaired.

Next inspect the roof and gutters.  Winter takes its toll on roofs.

Power wash the outside of the house, including windows.  This will let you see what needs to be touched up or replaced.

Good time to drain sediment from your water heater and perform maintenance on your cooling system.

Let's Go Inside:

Wash walls with 1/2 c ammonia, 1/4 c white vinegar and 1/4 c baking soda to 1 gallon of warm water.  Sweep away cobwebs and dust near the ceilings.  Wash windows and vacuum out the tracks.  Also, a great time to wash light fixtures and change the bulbs if needed.

Lets work on the kitchen.  Defrost the freezers and wash out the refrigerator.  Toss out anything you haven't used for awhile.  Remove screens on hood fans and wash.  Clean the oven and soak stove rings and drip pans.  Thoroughly clean small kitchen appliances and get rid of ones you no longer use.  Don't forget to vacuum the front coils and motor to remove dust and dirt from your refrigerator.

Deep clean the bath rooms:  shower, tub, toilet, sink and floor.  Inventory the medicine cabinets too.

Vacuum/wash/dry clean all windows coverings.  Launder all quilts, blankets, comforters and bedspreads.  Turn mattresses.

Rent a carpet cleaner or hire a company to clean your carpets.,

Go through closets and draws to remove clothes you no longer wear.

Last but not least - Have a yard sale and put money earned toward a family vacation!
